            ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paul Ward has been a professional photographer for over twenty years now and recently won his category at the British Photography Awards 2020. Over the years his work has been published in many books and magazines both in the UK and internationally and his architectural images currently adorn the walls aboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2. Paul’s passion for cars started when he bought his first Austin Mini almost 30 years ago and ever since then he has been obsessed with both classic cars and modern supercars, so, as an image maker, it’s not surprising that automobile photography has become a passion of his too.

Maserati 250S race car  – shot on location in the paddock at Silverstone Classic by car photographer Paul Ward Car.

1957 Maserati 250S by Fanutzzi. This car, Chassis # 2432, Reg # ESL 315 has a wealth of provenance. This is one of four examples built and believed to be the only example originally equipped with a 2.5-litre engine.

This is the Maserati 250S sold at auction recently for £2,128,000. Being one of only four examples of the 250S, it's easy to see why this car commanded such a price when it came up for sale. It is also believed to be the only car fitted originally with a 2.5ltr engine (the other three were fitted with the 2ltr and were later bored out to 2.5). Raced in period by Jim Hall and Carroll Shelby, the car only lasted one season before being superseded by the 300S.
