        ABOUT THE ARTIST
João Meneses is a young self-taught automotive photographer who, from a tender age, developed a unique passion and a very strong connection with photography and the world of cars, influenced by his dad. Shortly after he concluded his professional qualification in the health sector (physiotherapy), suddenly the interest of dedicating his time entirely to photography emerged. João bought his first camera and embraced the challenge of self-learning the basics, leading to evolution from an amateur to a professional freelance photographer.

Today, after 4 years of a lot of dreaming, a lot of hard work, and persistence, João has accumulated partnerships with some of the most prestigious brands in the automotive world, such as Ferrari Portugal, Aston Martin Portugal, Maserati Iberia; has participated in world-renowned events since 2014 and throughout the years, including the 4H European Le Mans Series, the International GT Open, the Algarve Classic Festival, among others. João is currently the photographer of the famous annual event Cars and Coffee, in Portugal, and is looking forward to continuing to become increasingly known internationally.

        ABOUT THIS COMMISSION

The Ferrari 250 GTO is a GT car produced by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964 for homologation into the FIA's Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. It was powered by Ferrari's Tipo 168/62 Colombo V12 engine.

The "250" in its name denotes the displacement in cubic centimetres of each of its cylinders; "GTO" stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated."

Just 36 of the 250 GTOs were manufactured between 1962 and 1964. This includes 33 cars with 1962-63 bodywork (Series I) and three with 1964 (Series II) bodywork similar to the Ferrari 250 LM. Four of the older 1962-1963 (Series I) cars were updated in 1964 with Series II bodies.
